What if we told you your next dish at The Glades could feature herbs and leafy greens grown right here in the centre? No fields. No tractors. Just a super-cool vertical farm casually sprouting greens near M&S on the Upper Mall.
Welcome to Future Farm — our hydroponic mini allotment that looks like it’s beamed in from a sci-fi movie… but it’s very real and very green (literally).
This clever tower doesn’t use soil at all — just water (95% less than traditional farming, in fact), hydroponic tech, and a whole lot of plant love. Oh, and the tower is made from recycled plastic, because yes — we’re all about sustainability from root to leaf.
But why are we growing salad in a shopping centre?
Because we believe fresh, local, and sustainable food shouldn’t be some far-off dream — it should be part of everyday life. Plus, if you’ve ever seen Clarkson’s Farm, you know traditional farming is no joke. This is our little tribute to all the hardworking growers out there — and a chance to get our community thinking (and talking) about where our food comes from.
It’s futuristic. It’s educational. It’s just cool.
And here’s the best bit — the herbs and greens we grow here get served up in our restaurants! So the next time you’re enjoying lunch at The Glades, that zingy rocket or fresh mint might have come straight from our farm just metres away.
Grown in Bromley. Served in Bromley. Loved by Bromley.
Come check it out, Upper Mall (near M&S) — and prepare to have your mind blown by a basil plant.
