Mini Makers: Free Creative Workshops for Kids This Summer

Looking for something fun and creative to do with the kids this summer? Join us at The Glades for Mini Makers a series of free, hands-on creative workshops for children aged 5–12, taking place throughout the summer holidays.

From colourful nature-inspired crafts and recycled ocean creatures to magical keepsakes and summer-themed art, each workshop offers something different for young makers to create, explore and take home.

Cost: Free
Booking: Advance registration via Eventbrite is required.

Haven’t booked in advance? You’re still very welcome to come along! We’ll keep a small number of spaces available for walk-ins at each workshop. These will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early to give yourself the best chance of joining in.

As places are free and limited, we kindly ask that you only book if you genuinely plan to attend. If your plans change, please cancel your booking through Eventbrite so that your place can be offered to another family.

Nature Creations: Bees, Butterflies and Blooms

Friday 31 July, 11am–1pm

Explore the wonders of nature through colourful crafts and creative making. Children can create bees, butterflies, flowers and other nature-inspired designs using cardboard, collage materials, pompoms and more.

Cut, stick, decorate and experiment with different textures while bringing creations to life. It’s a fun, hands-on workshop all about imagination, creativity and discovering the beauty of the natural world.

Recycled Masterpieces: Ocean Wonders

Sunday 2 August, 2pm–4pm

Dive into a world of ocean-inspired creativity and transform everyday recycled materials into amazing sea creatures. Using loo rolls, egg cartons, pompoms and other crafty materials, children can create colourful fish, underwater characters and their very own imaginative ocean artwork.

This workshop encourages creativity while helping young makers discover fun new ways to reuse everyday materials.

Magical Keepsakes

Friday 7 August, 11am–1pm

Create a magical collection of keepsakes to wear, share or treasure! Children can make colourful clay charms, beaded bracelets, keyrings and other fun accessories using bright materials and plenty of imagination.

Whether they’re making a special gift for someone they love or a keepsake to remember a fun summer day, they’ll leave with handmade creations full of personality.

Create Your Own Summer Vibes!

Sunday 16 August, 2pm–4pm

Capture everything you love about summer through art, words and design. Make a bold poster, create a collage, write poetry or fold your ideas into a mini zine it’s a chance for every young maker to tell their own summer story.

With inspiration from music, holidays, nature, friendships or simply their own imagination, children can mix colours, images, textures and words to create something completely their own.

No experience is needed bring your imagination and get ready to create!
