Following the success of last year’s event, we are excited to announce that Spirit of Bromley Week is returning to The Glades from Monday 14th October!
Once again, we invite Bromley residents to come along and connect with our amazing local charities. This is a great chance to learn more about the incredible work they do and discover how we can all come together to make Bromley an even better place to live!
Join us for 5 days of community pop-ups at The Glades (located Lower Mall Central Atrium next to Costa Coffee), where these great charities will be showcased and celebrated. Here’s the schedule of activities for this year:
– Monday 14th & Friday 18th October – Bromley Children & Families Voluntary Sector Forum
– Tuesday 15th October – Freddie Farmer Foundation & Chartwell Cancer Trust
– Wednesday 16th & Thursday 17th October – Bromley FC Community Sports Trust
Dedicated to providing a safe space for children, young people, and families to seek help without fear of embarrassment or judgement. BCF Forum aims to create long-term solutions by addressing the root causes of challenges faced in Bromley. During Spirit of Bromley, they will bring together charities, community organisations, and corporate partners to foster collaboration that benefits the entire community. Special thanks go to their sponsors, including Bromley Old Town Hall, Dorothy and Marshall, Brama Hotel, and VR Next for their generous support.
Since 2011, the Freddie Farmer Foundation has supported children with cerebral palsy and mobility challenges by offering intensive physiotherapy at their specialist centre in Bromley. At Spirit of Bromley, they will raise awareness about their work and how the community can support disabled children through their innovative therapy programmes, including the use of their “spider” equipment.
Supporting the Chartwell Cancer & Leukaemia Unit at The Princess Royal University Hospital, this charity assists oncology families across Bromley. They offer a free house clearance and donation collection service, with items sold in their charity shops to raise funds. At Spirit of Bromley, they will explain their projects and fundraising programmes, encouraging community involvement.
This charity uses the power of sport to improve the physical and mental well-being of Bromley residents. They offer a range of activities, from soccer schools to support programmes for mental health, dementia, and veterans. With participants ranging in age from 18 months to 90 years old, their work reaches across the entire community. Join them on Wednesday and Thursday to learn more about their initiatives.
Come along and show your support! Whether you want to learn more about local charities, get involved in volunteering, or simply meet your fellow residents, Spirit of Bromley Week is the perfect opportunity. Together, we can make a real difference in our community. We hope to see you there!
