Hundreds of gifts donated to charity by shoppers at The Glades

The Glades Shopping Centre is thanking it generous shoppers for making last month’s Giving Tree appeal a fantastic success, with more than 200 Christmas gifts being delivered to children throughout Bromley and surrounding areas, who are supported by The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust (CCCT).

The campaign launched in early December and over the following weeks, the borough lived up to its kind-hearted reputation and contributed toys, books, stationery and more. Mark Haynes, Director of The Glades, says he is so grateful to the community for backing the initiative.

“We are truly thankful to all who took the time to purchase an additional present and donate it to our Giving Tree appeal. This simple gesture has resulted in so many little boys and girls receiving a wonderful surprise and for this, we cannot say ‘thank you’ enough.

“The CCCT is an essential charity, which does so much to provide care and support for children and their families facing complex and challenging health conditions,” Mark added. “The campaign also served as an opportunity for The Glades and the people of Bromley to express our appreciation for the all the hardworking team members.”

Michelle Simpson, Sales & Marketing Consultant/Co-ordinator for Childhood Cancer Support Groups, said: “We would like to say a very big ‘thank you’ to The Glades and all the shoppers for your very generous support. You have helped make a big difference to many children at Christmas and put big smiles on their faces.”
