Bromley blogger hosts new book event at The Glades

Visitors at The Glades Shopping Centre were able to enjoy a special guest appearance by a top influencer at its Oliver Bonas store in celebration of a new book launch.

Bromley-based fashion and lifestyle influencer, Olivia Purvis, who has an Instagram following of 186k, hosted a get together with her loyal fan base at the store a few days ago to talk about the importance of friendship and female empowerment – the core theme of her writing debut, The Insecure Girl’s Handbook.

A lucky audience of 25 snapped up tickets for an evening of drinks and conversation with Olivia at the Oliver Bonas store, where she was also joined by her best friend to share anecdotes ranging from fallouts, first loves, loneliness and making new friends.

The event at The Glades was the final stop of Olivia’s tour of the UK with the homeware and fashion store, which saw her and a different guest at each store meeting hundreds of people and discussing a variety of topics from the book, which was released earlier this month.

Mark Haynes, Director of The Glades, said: “Olivia is a hugely popular influencer and her words, honesty and relatable personality resonate with many people. It’s fantastic that she’s from Bromley and has always been a great supporter of The Glades.

“It has been a wonderful experience to welcome her back to the shopping centre and Oliver Bonas. A great time was had by all and we wish her every success with the book, and we hope to see her popping in again in the not too distant future.”

Collette Hughes, Marketing and Be Kind Officer at Oliver Bonas, added: “It was such an amazing night filled with a lot of laughter and valuable chat – the perfect end to our Insecure Girls Handbook book tour with Liv. The conversation was relatable, and I think everyone took a lot away from the advice and experiences she shared.

“I honestly believe all young girls should be encouraged to read the book, and if they are lucky enough to live in Bromley, they might even find a signed copy still on the shelves in our Bromley store!”
