Fuchsia is a great colour, it’s so fun and exciting. It really injects some life into your wardrobe which is exactly what you need after a long grey winter. That said, it isn’t for everyone; full on fuchsia may not suit your skin tone or you may simply not be ready to stand out from the crowd quite so much.

Luckily, fuchsia looks great mixed with grey and pretty much everyone can wear grey. A full fuchsia skirt or trousers teamed with a grey vest and shoes looks classy as well as being bang on trend. If you’re feeling brave and love to mix colours then fuchsia looks great teamed with orange!

There are some fantastic accessories out there in fuchsia too – these heels from Debenhams would really make a statement with a simple dress or jeans.

Make up is a great place to start when trying out a new colour. Fuchsia nail polish looks great on all skin tones while a hot pink lip looks modern with dewy skin and a simple slick of mascara. For a real impact try an eye shadow – Lena Dunham and Sophia Bush have been spotted at celeb-studded events recently rocking this look but it’s not for the faint hearted.

With Valentine’s Day on the way what better time to try this colour? Guys can get in on the trend too by adding a hot fuchsia tie to their outfit or even some matching socks.

I’m going to invest in a fuchsia blazer and team it with a mint green top or heels – I just love this combination of colours.
